Belgium to France - Antwerp

The people of Antwerp were buried in their churches until Emperor Joseph II prohibited this practice in 1784. Some of the more unusual memorials that are still to be seen in the cathedral date back to medieval times when it was fashionable to include carved skulls and skeletons.
